RETREATS

A retreat is an invitation to stop. Not to escape your life — but to see it more clearly. To hear what has been difficult to hear in the noise. To be with God without agenda.
I have been leading retreats for over thirty years. What I have learned is this: the retreat does most of the work. My role is to write the retreat, create the conditions, accompany the movements, and get out of the way.

Individualized Silent Retreats—3, 4, or 8 Days
A personally directed retreat in silence. Each day includes time for prayer, a daily meeting with me, and extended silence. Scripture, images, and invitations for prayer are offered based on where you are and what is arising. These retreats can take place at a retreat center (I can recommend several in the Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey area) or, in some cases, in a place of your choosing. Who this is for: anyone seeking extended time with God. Particularly meaningful at moments of transition, grief, vocational discernment, or simply the need for deep rest.

The Sacred Pause — 5-Day Retreat
A structured five-day retreat designed to help you return to center. Includes daily direction, guided prayer, silence, and time in nature. A rhythm is offered — not a schedule — to help you move at the pace your soul actually needs. This retreat can be structured for an individual or a small group of two to four people traveling together.

Day Retreats — Individual or Small Group
A single day of prayer, silence, and direction. A day retreat offers a genuine pause without requiring a full week away. Useful as a regular practice (many of my directees do a day retreat twice a year) or as preparation for a season of transition. Day retreats can be held at a retreat center, outdoors, or in a location meaningful to you.

The Hiking Retreat — A Day on the Trail
Prayer does not require a chapel. For those who encounter God most readily in creation, I offer a day of prayer on the trail. We begin with a brief orientation and intention-setting. We walk in extended silence, pausing at natural moments for reflection. We integrate a bit of Forest Therapy, opening the senses and reflection along the trail. We close with a longer conversation — what arose, what was heard, what might be carried forward. This retreat is offered in Fairfield County and Westchester County. Moderate fitness required. All are welcome regardless of faith background.

Parish and Group Retreat Facilitation
I design and lead retreats for parish groups, women's groups, ministry teams, and other faith communities — for Advent, Lent, or any season of the year. Each retreat is built for the particular group: its history, its questions, the moment it is in. Recent retreat themes have included Advent contemplative evenings, Lenten reflection days, and ecumenical gatherings on scripture and sacred seasons. Contact me to discuss your community's needs.
